I received my Journalism degree from Humboldt State University. I had an atypical college experience, I worked my way through school as a 911 Dispatcher. I thought it was the best of both worlds; I could go to school during the day and work at night. After college I still loved being a 911 Dispatcher and that is the career path I choose. For many years I didn't write, except for the evaluations for my employees or memos to the Chief. However, over time, I really started to miss the story telling aspect of journalism. I missed sharing knowledge, making people smile and engaging readers. I started this blog as a creative labor of love, as it allows me to work in my career during the day and cook and write at night. It was the perfect escape, stress release and creative outlet. Presently I have started to write for different publications, about topics I love or find interesting. I have written several articles for www.examiner.com and I write a food/wine column for Driven World magazine. Here are some of my articles:
